PRESS RELEASE SEPT. 26TH, 2003 SURAT: The 52 nd Dai Al Mutlaq His Holiness Syedna Dr. Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS is presently on a tour in Surat, Gujrat. Under the directives of His holiness, The Burhani Medical Idarah (BMI) has been established. Over 700 Dawoodi Bohra Doctors from all over the world today attended the first BMI gathering held in Surat. The institute is an international umbrella body of Dawoodi Bohra medical practitioners and medical institutes managed by the community members in all parts of the world. During the gathering held in the president ship of His Eminence prince Qaid Joher Ezzuddin and His Eminence Prince Qusai Vajihuddin , the Agenda of activities and perspectives of the BMI was discussed by medical professionals. The BMI is part of the social upliftment programme initiated by Syedna on His Holiness's 92nd birthday in the community. Apart from organizing health education programmes and medical awareness within community, the institute shall also undertake the technical ,administrative and professional upgrading and development of the medical institute run by the Dawoodi Bohras world over to provide superior medical services to fellow citizens in general. The ultra sophisticated , under construction Saifee Hospital in Mumbai is one of the ambitious project undertaken by the community. More importantly , under the guidance and blessing of His Holiness , the BMI shall encourage awareness for the spiritual enrichment and religious conscience with in the Dawoodi Bohra medical professionals that is believed to help serve humanity with enhanced sensitivity and self-discipline. Through the BMI, Dawoodi Bohra general practitioner and surgeons shall also professionally and socially interact with one another through seminars and research programmes.
