To the Nabi SAW, the universe is like a globe for a geographer. Just as the expert geographer can pinpoint all kinds of places on a globe so the Nabi can pinpoint any place in the universe. He is able to tell us about the past and about the future, as much as Allah wishes him to know. Thus, he has the capacity to perform miracles and hold sway over the universe as seen in the miracle of the splitting of the moon.
Knowledge rules whilst wealth is ruled over - it is only natural. The very foundation of Dawat is based on true knowledge. Some people say that hudaat kiraam do not approve of knowledge or, even further, that they are the enemies of knowledge. In the Ikhwaan-ul-Safaa it is written that our ilm subjugates all other knowledge and we have no enmity to any form of knowledge.
It is not possible to know everything, someone who tries to do so will find that they miss out on it all. It is necessary to create fields of knowledge in the world today. This has been done but in doing so a great many things that are not required learning have been made compulsory placing an unnecessary burden on the student.
What is "khayr"? Khayr is to do what is required, at the time it is required in the way that it is required. For example, namaaz. Namaaz prayed in its time is khayr, whilst if prayed past its time it is no longer khayr. One cannot, for example, pray any namaaz after sunrise and before zawaal.
What is knowledge? Knowledge is 'khayr' in totality.
There are four facets to the acquiring of knowledge. First to listen intently, second to memorize, third to act in accordance with it and fourth to spread it. If one does not have the capacity to spread it oneself then one should assist in providing the facilities to spread knowledge.
Today's waaz is the day of Taasu (9th) and being the eve of Aashuraa the gham bayaan that brought today's waaz to an end was notably heart-wrenching.
First Molana declared his happiness saying, "How could I not be happy? It is as if Syedna Taher Saifuddin is saying to me that 'I am very happy seeing the matam of these Mumineen and their tears'."
In Mala e Aala Panjatan, Aimmat and Duaat are very content and pleased.
Molana TUS spoke of how these days of Ashara had passed by very quickly - now the day of Aashura was upon us. What would happen tomorrow? Eighteen janaaza would be carried of Ahle Bayt.
Will Abbas Alamdaar have his arms severed tomorrow? Would Imam Husain AS perform the shaadi of Abdullah and Sakina after three days of hunger and thirst? One by one Molana TUS took the mubarak names, Aliakber, Oan and Mohammed, Aliasgher.
Tomorrow Imam Husain would pray salaam on Ali Zainulabedin AS with a dry tongue.
After this zikr Mamluke Aale Mohammed asks you, will you not become fidaa upon Husain?"
Shed tears with me upon Imam Husain, if you do so you will surely receive the barakat of the dua that Imam Husain did on the night of Aashura and on Aashura day in the sajda 1400 years ago.
Do tasbeeh of istighfaar tonight. Seek forgiveness from those sins that prevent us from having the tawfeeq (inclination) to attend this majlis or prevent the shedding of tears.
Molana TUS spoke of the joy that he would feel when Mumineen attend waaz and then said, "If anyone forsakes this majlis - Husain's Dai will feel great pain!"
Aashura Eve Majlis
We are grateful that Husain, with his shahadat, fulfiled the dayn (debt) of those who have gone before and those who are to come. May he fulfill our dayn too.
O' azaa daara ne Husain! Look at me tomorrow, see my tears and perform the matam of Husain.
In this night also, pray dua remembering all the while that no affect is made for tomorrow - tomorrow you must perform matam properly. Also pray dua that Allah gives me long life.
Bawajisaheb has willed that I should never forget a Mumin
May Allah t'aala grant our beloved Aqa and Mola TUS long life in khidmat Husainiyyah taa qiyamat.
